I’m back…

I’m going to start blogging again, but it’s going to be a little bit different this time. I’m going to start using a transcriber to express what I’m feeling on any given day – the posts might not be long, and they probably will not be as well thought out as my written posts, I’m going to really experiment with this method and see if it works for me.

I will go back and correct what the transcriber gets from me, but not by much. I’m going to try and to speak and have my thoughts transcribed as is, and see what comes out.  My goal is to see if I can change the way that I communicate with my computer, because I’ve been bound to the keyboard for about 30 years.  This post, for example, was 100% dictated and the transcriber did not make a single mistake. I’m also interested in if this helps keep hand and eye strain down a little bit, since I often spend as much is 16 hours a day at my machine.

For anyone reading that wants to know I’m using MacSpeech dictate which is powered by the Dragon NaturallySpeaking engine it took about five minutes to train my computer, and after that, it just sort of worked.

As usual I look forward to your thoughts and feedback!

ah cool. I am interested to see how it works for you. I have been thinking the same thing as well and was going to load up dragon and see how it goes, but meh, now I’ll just watch you. :D

Though this does bring back an evil idea i had a while ago… hmmm….

    Nuts,
I’ll bet I have a pretty good idea of what you’re evil idea would be… Using the transcriber right now with my radio playing a think I’m right with you.

It’s working really well and I’m very satisfied, but I find that I think differently when I’m typing them when I’m speaking. It sounds pretty weird, but I “see” posts better than hear or speak them. It’s almost as if by speaking my “posting brain” is hesitant or shuts off.

I’ll let you know how it goes!
