Ya well I think thats true.

It doesn't really matter which language you make it in 'cause every langauge has the basic stuff which you should be able to build up stuff on.

At the same time, I think that you should be a bit wise when choosin which craapy language youll go with..

So.. for example.. I wouldn't make a search engine in Lisp.. and I wouldn't make an HTML parser, with the heaviest

I'd actually add it's the way you think, not just you.

People always say "I can't do that

programming

thing" and it's just that they've not been introduced to it in a way that they understand. They can easily tell their mother-in-law how to operate the TV while they're away (which is arguably a WAY more difficult and intricate task, exacerbated by the fact that the computer doesn't inherently hate you...) and

programming

  is little more.

Logical layout and explanation of a task to a stupid

mac

hine in a tiny little language that it forces you to speak in because it can't speak anything else. Ergo, if you can define a task, lay out how you want it done, as the Kapn says - the best tool for the job ie., the appropriate language for the application will become apparent.

Jeepers how'd I get all wound up today?

Just to be an asshole.
It would be very smart to make a search engine in lisp.
For starters lisp very fast.

Also if you can afford franz allegro lisp implementation ...

It parses xml/html right into symbols
http://www.franz.com/support/documentation/8.0/doc/phtml.htm

symbols are like i think perks called in

PHP

  "static strings"
As a result instead of using primative dom parser etc,
you can maniplute the html using lisp's build in list operators.

If he said he would use lisp to make SE this post would be about why bad idea Applause
