I thought maybe if each language had a subforum that could contain completed code chunks as refererences.

classes and functions only probably.

kind of like code behind... lol

Pretty funny you mention that, actually - I wrote this down last night before going to bed and actually have a stick note on my keyboard to do it - you beat me because my Mammography client's notebook computer died and I had to perform surgery lol .. but I will do that straight away when I get home. I even have my first few posts on the sticky for

PHP

  and JS.

Good eye, thanks for the tip,

didn't realize you were a doctor.  should we call you Dr. Perky (no pun intended) now?
hehe

perkiset

Careful pal... that's what PinkHat calls me and only on special occasions  Applause

In fact, I did a bit of surgery - cracked open the notebook on the hunch that it was motherboard, extracted a very persnickety HD, used an old external USB/HD case and notebook-to-IDE adapter to talk to the little bastard, got her a new NB, copied everything across and there was much rejoicing.

Doctors are great because they know so much they cannot

learn

any more. Job security bucko. <i>Kaching!</i>

how the hell do you get a doctor to pay anything worth you whileApplause??!?!?

every prospect jenny or I meet with turns into a "how do I get a website for 500bucks" conversation.

at this point we just tell them right at the first phone call the minimum price. we havent gotten a single meeting since... Applause

I thought you were making a joke with the "Mammography client" remark which is why i called you Dr. Perky.  Mammography, perky, get it?

damn, the Kaptain is losing his edge.

oh well, fish you, it's friday.

Applause Applause Applause OK I'm there now... been rather stoopid the last several days

@ NBs - essentially I dont "do websites..." the discussion for Docs is always that we offer a complete web marketing and operations support mechanism... the website is less than 15% of the deal. That's why it's gonna be a fewK month + 3K extra for the first 3 to "get things started."

I can show you some of that if you like - it works pretty well but is a bit of work.

Nutballs - I renamed your snippets child board... do you like how it is? Have you played with the Admin stuff to see how you can modify/update that board?

i just meant how do you get them to even consider paying more than 500 bucks. everytime (until we recently figure it out..) we would meet, they would say "oh we dont have a budget" and then we would quote, they would balk, we would tell them to call the ad they saw in PC Shopper, and give us a call once they get screwed enough. Dentists and doctors are cheap bastards in my experience. Realtors also. lol

perkiset

Totally get it - cheap fishs.

That's why when we are asked, it's "We don't do websites." [ Silence ]
They can't resist. After a while, it's Well then what do you do?

Mary and I have a great story wrapped around Inte

marketing, the continuity between the "feel" of their documentation, office, office staff and "Electronic Presence." Just talk for half a minute about the INCREDIBLE intricacies of getting a web site to go from an electronic brochure (which of course is all those cheap ads are selling - you're a doctor, right? You're going to drive a Yugo? What, are you kidding me?) to a dynamic interactive web application that is integrated with an email marketing system, content management solution and oh BTW, we "Throw In"

SEO

 . That's another 10K/month we're going to save you. They'll be breathless.

You must figure out a plan for the golden, fur lined handcuffs though. Our systems are such that getting off them and going with someone else is a pretty big deal and they'll have to go WAY backward. It's iHeroin my friend. Suddenly the doctors become part of your annuity plan.
