You can't turn this shit off from runtime?!?!
and... You cant turn it off from the htaccess if the server you are on doesnt have allowoverrides (or something like that set). DUMB That magic quotes shit needs to be gotten rid of. Whoever thought that was a good idea should be punched in the nuts by every programmer having an issue with it, and that will be lots from what I have read.
