I had the dickens of a time trying to find support on the <<< or Heredoc operator when I first saw it a few years ago... because I had no idea what it was called . The first time I saw it in someone else's code I was intrigued but baffled. So for anyone interested and still in the dark about this fantastic tool, here is a link to the documentation:

I've been using that operator for many many years in

  and never known the name of it, though  just opened up the O Reilly camel book (one of my older

  books) and seen it is the 1996 second edition and it is documented in there on page 43 so I should know. I guess I never read it!

It's funny JD... in old languages, I knew everything about everything about them... because they'd come with a for-reals manual and as soon as I had the basics under my belt I'd go hide and read the whole thing.

But with the newfangled stuff (particularaly

PHP

  and JS) you can buy all kindso books, but they'll just show what *they* think is important, and not necessarily dump the whole language as a reference. So if you don't know what to call something, it's not googlable. Makes for a sort of dungeons and dragons approach to

learn

 ing  new languages that I'm really not sure I like...
