nope, just drop an png named:

if you dont want to monkey with the header.

All set - it is done. I wanted it in my graphics directory so I modded the header and presto!

 -touch-icon.PNG probably is only for the root domain. Though I guess it could be for each directory. I haven't tried yet.

the href can point to anything it would seem - and my headers do that.

Side note: had to see a client for a quick moment so I REALLY FAST created one of their site and threw it on the phone and showed them.

I don't think they'll be going anywhere soon

I know with the head method it can be anything and even could be a different icon for every page of your site technically. I'm talking about the default method when you can't modify the head HTML of your site, like on some free hosts. The

iPhone

  automatically looks for that default icon, I assume in the root.
