Thread: Knoppix Tip

Okay if your still on the easy road to

linux

 ,
heres a command to help you until you
can sources.list and all that jazz:

quote author=jammaster82 link=topic=784.msg5409#msg5409 date=1203519938

...[and] youll have a fully functional

debian

  release
with all the hardware support of knoppix preinstalled.
all the latest

debian

  packages according to
default sources (which you can change on your journey to *nix)

If your trying to install something
and the sources.list isnt quite right
then do an 'apt-get update --fix-missing'
and it will fix it fer ya...

and if you REALLY continue to whine about
the command line:

apt-get install synaptic

Will install the synaptic package manager
so you can point and click your way to
stability....

Ubuntu

desktop edition comes preloaded with Synaptic. It's probably the best GUI package manager available. Which means it's just a little worse than the worst command-line package manager.

Do it from the command line.

were for useres of a single system to chat... anything i
can chat with someone on the out side of the ether?
