No politics today.

Just 6 months after we lost our black standard, this morning we lost our apricot to the same (most probably genetic) problem. These were the finest animals that I have ever had. They loved our family as much as we loved them. They will never be forgotten.

So sorry to hear of your loss, Perk. Furry companions really do become like family, and they show us a kind of unconditional love that few humans even can.

Remember the good times you had with them both and think happy thoughts about them.

Really sorry about your loss – I have lost two cats, one whe I was still a kid, another a few years ago so I know exactly how it hurts. May they rest in peace.

They were the best of the best my friend. Angels in my home, watching over the family and bringing us love and joy every minute.

We’re going to bring another one into our home in the next couple months – it will take a while to find what we are looking for.

Thanks again for your thoughts, I really appreciate it.

Hi Perks, so sorry to hear of your loss. Words escape me.

I know of 2 instances where friends lost their four legged friends, and they both said that getting another right away really helped ease the pain of losing their friend.

I hope you will consider bringing a new companion into your home soon, for yourself and your children,

    My lab sends his best…

So very kind, all of you for your messages here – as I mentioned above, we will be moving (reasonably) quickly to bring another puppy into the house. It’s a hole in the heart that we don’t want to let sit for too long.

We’re also going to be doing just a bit of research on our breeder, whom only gave us a 4 year genetic health guarantee, which now that both dogs died of a clearly congenital liver cancer problem at 5.5 and 6 years is suddenly suspicious – and if there’s about to be a bunch more homes that are going to be ripped up then at the very least she should know about it.

Again, thank you all for the love and thoughts. It means a tremendous amount.
