Breast Cancer - have a mammogram!
With the close of Breast Cancer Awareness Month upon us, it is important to take a personal inventory to be sure you are updated on your mammogram and well check. With all the attention put on breast cancer during October and the information provided about mammograms, ultrasounds and MRI of the breast, mammograms and physical breast exams are still the best way to detect breast cancer early. If you haven’t had your yearly mammogram, make your appointment today!
Being a 7 year survivor and speaking from experience, you need to be in control of your personal health, you need to be proactive, and you need to go to a breast cancer specialist who can detect breast cancer in its smallest and earliest stages. Not all radiologists are created equal, so you need to go to the most experienced radiologist out there. I know just the one!

After the tech does your mammogram - on a digital machine - the films appear on Dr. Barclay-White’s computer and she looks at them when you are waiting in the “Relaxation Room!” She then calls you into her office, you sit with her and she shows you your films. She reviews them with you and you know the results BEFORE YOU LEAVE! You don’t have to worry, wonder or wait weeks for that paper to come in the mail! It is the most wonderful place to go! Take it from a survivor…I know!!
