What are your New Year’s Resolutions?
Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? If so, do you keep them? Do you write them down and look at them throughout the year?
I hear all the time from people all over talk about making resolutions, and then by the end of the January, they are gone - never to be heard from again!
Why is that? Why do people go on diets at the beginning of the year, but by February, they have forgotten all about it?
What do you think?
Habits. Bad ones and lack of good ones.
We can’t commit to something when there’s no end in sight. So tell yourself instead of “I’m going to get up and run more this year”, say “I’m going to get up and run every day for the month of January. That’s only a few weeks.”
Then, if you’re like most people and it really is a good habit, you’ll like it so much, it will stick.

I don’t. I think that New Year’s Day is just like any other day, and if I need an excuse to create a new “thang” for me then it will probably fail anyway. So if I can’t make myself a promise on any day and know I’ll keep it, then I won’t do it on New Year’s either.
I have trouble enough keeping my promises to myself LOL

You know, I put such high expectations on myself, that I if I make a list of resolutions, I would be so caught up with making sure I did each one perfectly, I would become OCD!!
So, I just never have gotten in the habit of committing - same thing with giving up something for Lent!
