I hate that shit, but have not found an option to do it automatically. And even BBEdit (my current text editor) maintains some of the formatting which just PISSES ME OFF.

So now (cue laugh track) I paste things I want text only into VI, then copy and paste into their final destination.

Frigging PIA.

thats what I have always done, even tell clients to do it when they use a CMS that magically copies RTF and Word formating.

copy from source.
paste to notepad
copy from notepad
paste to destination
