How to increase the height of the post editor box?

I just spent about an hour searching google and fiddling
with the smf js and templates, and other shit.  arrrrg!

Mine is about 150px height.  WTF?

I can see about 12 lines of a 200 line post while editing. pfft

There is a "handle" to stretch it down, but I want permenent.


What I've done so far:

In Themes/Default/Scripts/editor.js, I changed 150 to 350, but that didn't help.

   this.sEditHeight = 'sEditHeight' in this.opt ? this.opt.sEditHeight : '350px';


Note: Yesterday I changed a few font colors so I know "Default" is the correct place.


In Themes/Default/Post.template.php

I changed 314 to 514, dunno why i did that, but it didn't help anyways.

            width: 95%;
            height: 514px;

Note: I do not want to download and install a mod for this. I just want to
change one little tiny value.

Are you just using the default SMF theme? Because if you've changed anything then the pieces of theme that you got will overwrite the defaults. It's weird how it works ... If there is an overriding file for a particular theme, then that is chosen over the default. That's why you can have a theme that only changes the home page and nothing else.

The way that I find the thing I want to change is to change to color of it. So I'll roll through the entire Style sheet for a theme and change the color/background color  of EVERYTHING to make sure that I've collected the thing I want, then start uncoloring things until I locate the ID/class I need to affect.

But I'm afraid that I don't know off the top of my head. If it gives you more than a little bit of trouble ping back and I'll find the little bastard.
