Unbelievable really!

http://news.yahoo.com/french-u-scientists-win-nobel-prize-physics-095143962.html

These guys figured out how to observe, count, and control quantum particles.

QUOTE:
Quantum physics studies the behavior of the fundamental building blocks of the universe at a scale smaller than atoms, when tiny particles act in strange ways that can only be described with advanced mathematics.

QUOTE:
"Single particles are not easily isolated from their surrounding environment, and they lose their mysterious quantum properties as soon as they interact with the outside world," the Nobel committee explained.

"mysterious quantum properties "

LOL

Mmm...Wow. I try not to think about that stuff. It just makes your brain ache. When you realise at that scale you can't even observe without destroying or affecting the outcome of the particles involved.... i mean...how ?what ?

Agree. That stuff all sits in a very abstract part of my thinking, because as soon as I try to work through it within a sort of normal context it just falls apart. Really really weird.

Thanks Bomps.
