Not that's what I'm talking about: http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2011/09/bacteria-water-hydrogen-fuel

Using the natural process of osmosis across a membrane between salt water and fresh water, you can create an ion deficit/ surplus on two sides of an Anode/Cathode pair, of course creating the possibility for electrical current. But the amount is very small. Put 5 such "batteries" together in serial and you do better.

But add a particular type of bacteria, give it food like acetate or better, animal/human waste, and you get a radically larger amount of current. More importantly, the byproduct of the bacteria poop is hydrogen.

Love it. Where can I buy stock?

Seems like there's just no end to these new fangled discoveries.

What will life be like in another 1,000 years?
