Paying the overpriced rate for a macbook and then installing ubuntu on it seems madness to me lol!

I use MAMP from http://www.living-e.de/en/index.php which works perfect in OS  X auto installing and managing php, apache, mysql

Bit geeky (read:childish) but I bought a lego mindstorms kits after seeing so many cool vids of stuff made on gootube lol. I have yet to make anything useful!

It comes with a drag/drop application for making the program which runs the robot but you can reflash it with different firmware which lets you code it in C Smiley

I don't really know much about solar power but I'd guess its like using a pigtail cable for your wifi antenna.. the longer the cable the more loss. You could have it on some kind of battery/solar system where the batteries are trickle charged. Meh I dunno, you gonna tune them into someones home wireless and hide the box in their bush?

I saw this (yesterday i think) mini computer which uses 8 watts of power and can run on a solar panel.

If they're so great and not already flooded with other spammers then why not just keep it to yourself. Surely using it solely for your own sites would make you more money than selling a monthly subscription..

Interesting read. I don't think I'd use it for every day coding but could be useful for some of my bigger projects. Thanks for taking the time to do a write up.

Maybe consider test flat file and use is_file

I could do.. the main problem is like when DITY was popular on syndk8 people would download an old version from the forum whereas I can keep an upto date version on my website which means people always get the most recent version.

I would post the source straight here but its like 32 files or something lol. It could be useful having this thread here for pesky members to discuss/advance Smiley
13  Level 2 Cache: Speciality Items / PHP / xml feed link builder on: June 10, 2007, 02:40:57 PM
I posted this on the blog earlier but thought I'd throw it up on here for those that don't see...

------------------------------
People have been gaining links out of false xml feeds for a long long time but it’s only recently that it has been so publicly discussed on blogs and in forums.

The basic idea is that you generate XML feeds with auto generated content and have each story within the feed link to a site you wish to generate links for. Once the feed has been created and you ping blog search engines like technorati then the idea is that scraper sites will pick up your feed and then link to the site listed as the author within the feed. This is obviously a very simple explanation but there are hundreds of people talking about it right now so I don’t think I need to go into too much detail.

I have updated one of my tools to be a bit prettier looking and put it into the scripts area. So go check the http://www.onlinehoster.com/blog/xml-feeds-link-builder/ out.

Yeah its just another dedi. Safe mode is not on and I have enabled all the php.ini settings which are relevant to this. I have been advised by someone with a little more knowledge on the subject to just grab the latest version of php and recompile so I'll give this a go in the morning. Cheers guys.
