some of my monitoring software gets a strange value from the $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERRER'] variable now and again, and it totally bungles up my script.  Does anyone know why this happens?   It's about 1/15000 or so, but it makes me sad =(

here is example of one....

Code:
http%3a%2f%2fpressboxsportsbar.com%2findex.php

any thoughts or any easy way to cleanse?

i have not figured out why the browser is passing that twisted value...but i did resolve the problem on my end by just checking for % with stristri(), then dumping the entry.

Could be a bot that has collected your link from <elsewhere> and is using the referrer to see what your site does with one... but the scraper didn't urldecode what it code from the previous site.
