Anyone know of an existing search engine, in PHP, that just uses flat files, no database.

This would be for a small website, but with a need for a fairly robust search capability. Cannot use Google Custom, because it is a private/secure site. Just trying to avoid a DB. I had one a long time ago, but not sure now what options there are.

thoughts?

How many pages does your site have ?
If it is only like ~100 pages. Just do a simple regexp search which strips all the html, live.

Not sure if this would work.
If you are allowed to use a flatfile of some sort.
Make a markov chain of each page. Then store it.
Then you could lookup each word in the markov chain, also this way you could search words that are in order.
If PHP has the ability to pickle/unpickle objects/structures it would be a snap.
