Geez this thread got some attention.

well i did try initially to load it like you mentioned nb

Im at work at the moment and not on my box, so will give
you an example.

I had this sort of thing in an external file called captcha.php

$ch
=My curl stuff here
header
('Content-type: image/png');
echo 
$ch;
?>


Then I called it as you mentioned with the img tag

<img src='captcha.php'>

Hmm wonder why its not working. Perhaps its because on the text/html output I actually didnt go ahead and have a content type
on there, perhaps I need to declare that and it will work.
I will have a look once I get back and give a few things a try.

Got it fellas..

It wasnt working passing the $key through to the external php file.

So I did this...

Code:
In direct file..

echo"<img src='g2captcha.php?key=".$key."'>";

& in the external file..

$key=$_GET['key'];

then run the curl and display the image.


For anyone having the same problem.

Along the same lines of emonk.
You could use the canvas html element.

It would be kinda stupid but hey Smiley

wow.    Thats really cool!  How did you obtain the PGh0bww+CjxoZWFk representation of that picture?



 It's base64, which is predominatly used to encode email and newsgroup messages. The latest versions of IE and FF both support it as well, though it is seldom used for some reason.

 Any base64 encoder should work. I used the 'base64' command that comes with most linux distros, but there are also several online converters, and a built in PHP function ( base64_encode() ).

 Note though that it's not just an image. The 'PGh0...' stuff is actually a full html page which contains inside it another base64 encoded string as the source of the 'img' tag. You should be able to 'view source' and see that (depending on your browser).

You could use the canvas html element.

 I've never really been able to understand the point of canvas, I mean why not just use SVG or something?
