first off, kudos on the choice of URL shortener Smiley

Second, excellent find.

I am considering recoding my EvilEmpire into Codeigniter. Well at least my mothership, the nodes of course are lightweight speed is the goal packages. twitter, flickr are good for me.
I probably could find an Amazon affiliate API lib, and then make a few others, and Im golden.

hmmmm. I wonder about making my nodes CI... maybe I should consider it. I could still do my remote push updates, and such, so why not?
gears gears gears.
Where the fuck is my oil can! Damn gears are stuck.

I love CI but how do I run shell scripts that use CI? These would be backend functions that user interface user can't even trigger. Does it work if I just create controller and run that from from shell?

Funny you mention that, the other day I had to figure out how I could access a controller and run it from cron.

What I did was create a file in root, that the cronjob runs, and inside I point to my controller.
So far this is the only way I know to do it.

Code:
<?php

$_GET
["/accounts/recurring"] = null;
require
"index.php";

?>

Great, thanks.  That looks like rather feasible solution. I'll probably make separate folder for all those files and just put everything there.

There's a ready-made CLI library for this in CodeIgniter's site. So now it's even easier Smiley
