"Advocating Python for the sole purpose of promotion is idiocy."  ROFLMAO

It should be "Advocating [ Insert Language Here ] for the sole purpose of promotion is idiocy." You're right

Good write up..especially since I have been considering Python as the next language to learn after I get enough php experience...I've read that Python 3.0 will not have backwards compatibility towards previous versions of Python...so the upcoming release should be interesting to say the least.

For me personally though... as much as I would love just one standard language, its just not possible. I don't stick to just one and often prefer that they at the very least work together. Thats one thing I love about php, I can inter mix it with html & CSS all on the same damn page - they work together wonderfully - and thats what makes a good language - the ability to blend well with the code needed to do what it cannot do itself.
