It doesn't really matter if the 80% of the population that uses computers has Windows on their boxen or *nix, they're the 80% for a reason.  They don't know why things work the way they do and don't care to know why they work the way they do.  With *nix, since it's far more difficult to do the typical malware/spyware/virii b.s. for the crackers to destroy systems or build their bot-nets, they'll just start using social engineering tricks more.

The boon and bane of the Ubuntu community is it's visibility as catering to new users of Linux.  The forums are easily targeted by malicious characters.
