Mystery solved, I think.  The thermal fan in my Qosmio will occasionally stick (like only one bad bearing or something).  After giving it a good Dust Off (from a can) while watching it spin freely, it stopped hard.  It took lots of pressure to get it unstuck.  Did this a few more times and bing, it gets stuck again.  Not sure if it's angle or pressure from somewhere on the casing, but this definitely would produce a "random" failure.

I'm getting a new fan and hopefully the story is over Smiley

Thanks again for all your help Cache!

A happier itto Smiley

A nice, and unsloppy happy ending.

I'd rather play an MMO with decent gameplay, and especially decent PvP.

CoH/CoV pvp is decent.  Haven't played in a while but it's my fave.  Tried Champions recently, not a fan.

WoW: fishing, blacksmithing, leveling, then weapons don't even work well until I'm skilled enough to use them?  I lvld for christ sake.  Then when I'm "good" enough to hit something the damn things broken again and needs repair.  Another hour walking back to the tool shed, getting killed in higher lvl pathways home and spending precious life hours as a ghost?  And I can't even roll a sexy girl tune to follow around all day?

I used to be a D&D guy so I can't complain.  But after sick fun with PvP with other lvl 50 teams in CoH/CoV WoW just seemed like, well honestly like virtual fishing Wink

Some friends of mine are playing Warhammer Online. I dig it. It has decent PvP, not quite as good as what I remember in Dark Age of Camelot, but getting there.

Looks nice Smiley  Thanks!  Don't think I'll roll a 1/2 naked hottie during my 10-day free trial though.  Looks like unless I'm a hairy dwarf I'd get laughed out of missions Wink

We're on the server Badlands playing Order. Make sure to hit me up if you roll. My guildies are a senior Java developer, a smooth talker and former VP of Tech who now works at Oracle (how else can I describe what he does? lol), etc. You know, my buddies.

you'd get along.
