Now days I use chicken scheme for most of my stuff.
Chicken scheme is a variant of scheme that is compiled in C code which inturn is compiled to an executable.
(It also has an interactive mode, similar to python's interactive mode).
Scheme is a light wieght version of lisp.
Before that I used python for most things. I still use python for somethings.
