So I thought it's time to say hi. I have been in syndk8 and here for some time now and I'm newbie in both forums. I looking forward to contribute here but it's pretty hard because your guys here are so good at programming. I'm not even close to that level yet.

I'm finishing my first version of my system and I have taken many functions and ideas from here and syndk8. So I must thank you for your contributions.  Praise

I really don't have a clue what that is..?

BTW I see that there is new section for newbies. It's great idea for us (n00bs) to have some area to ask stupid questions (lol).

Welcome from the shadows, MonkeyMan. Don't be put off by the high-tech talk ... all of us started as n00bs at some time.

Ask away mate. It's the best way to get better.

hmm that brings up an interesting idea.
use a #tag to mark threads as possible bot.
Then have a spider/routine that finds all the threads with the special tag, and review them every so often.

or just delete like a bush cabinet member with a shredder.

Hmm... I think the correct path would be to mark a login as a bot, so that I could get bumped every time an alleged bot posted.

that's a very interesting and surprisingly easy patch methinks... thanks nuts

True duh. I assume you could do custom fields in a member profile. Display a button to mods that would set that custom field. On post/edit/profileupdate, if field, then pm or email.

I bet other and folks would want something like that.

I wonder if there already is... I'll take a stroll by the smf mods section later today and see.
