Blackberry is a smartphone
A shitty Nokia which costs $75 has more feature then a blackberry.
It even has opera browser.

Yes but those companies didn't have the foresight that RIM did. It's the same foresight Oracle has, coupled with a knack for selling people shit they don't really need.

Selling shit that people do not need, that is all that it comes down to in the end.
Sad but true

There are few things purchased that are actually needed.
Food, existence staples. The rest comes down to personal preference, quality of existence desires and trinkets.
What is interesting is how marketing, politics and religion (oh right, they're all the same thing...) convert trinkets, preference and mythology into perceived needs.
It's pretty fascinating actually.

Impressive. And yet - disturbing.
Perhaps you should back off on the diet of Brie, hard boiled eggs and Hefeweizen.

They're certainly key influencers but pale in comparison to us, the unquenchable consumer zombies being directed to buy X and Y for Z reasons

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.
