http://4sp.in/2lt

i had that idea in 2000 as a device you would purchase.
and then updated it a few days after the iphone launch.

Here's an example of how not having enough money or knowledge becomes an excuse to not barrel forward on and idea.

Heh.. this is really old idea.. there's free webcam barcode scanners around but there's a huge problem with this. When you scan the barcode, all you get is a number. You have to have some database to query with that number or else you don't know what the product is... Is there some common solution in United States because here in Finland you are stuck with this.

thats what this is. barcodes matched up to the respective nutrition data.

I am considering this quite frankly for my self. Yes you have to eat pre packaged shit, but at least you know exactly what your eating, no cheating.

yea. I had actually gone through and done a proof of concept in 2004 i think?
I used this thing: http://4sp.in/2lv
or at least the older version of it.

had a database online, clientside software and everything. It was fully working, except for 2 major problems.
1 - no immediate gratification by way of a screen
2 - no database... LOL
