Quote
She showed that even though people know that they occasionally behave dishonestly, they don’t know that they can convincingly lie to themselves to gloss over these misdeeds. Their scam is so convincing that they don’t know that they’re doing it. As she writes, “Our findings show that people not only fail to judge themselves harshly for unethical behaviour, but can even use the positive results of such behaviour to see themselves as better than ever.”

I think some people kind of know this on a general level.  Some then choose to craft in their minds exactly what they would like to be true and then allow the convergence of their desired reality with their actual, honest perception to join in harmony.  This way no one gets hurt - and nobody has to lie Wink

@ITTO
We all bend the truth to some degree.
But some people have the ability to actually change reality in their minds.

Another interesting study is why they showed people a film of a car accident.
After the film, they would ask a questions like.
Did the car run the stop sign ? (there was no stop sign)
They could then get the viewers to actually make up details of the stop sign, where it was etc.
When the viewers where shown the film again, they thought the film had been changed.

Anyway interesting Smiley

lmfao

I was just reading where Newt Gingrich had an affair with an aide years ago
while speaker of the house.  Since then, he divorced his wife and married his
aide.  Now, he is saying that he is a better man with a happy family life and
we should elect him our next president.

He sorta admits wrong doing, but then justifies it

"There's no question at times of my life, partially driven by how passionately I
felt about this country, that I worked far too hard and things happened in my
life that were not appropriate," Gingrich said

You see, it was his love for his country that made him jump in the sack with an aide.

I get it.

I don't know.  Every time I have an orgasm I start singing the national anthem, so I feel where Newt's coming from.

So that was you in the bushes outside my house watching me shower? I thought I heard singing.

 ROFLMAO

Guilty.  And you didn't actually get soap in your eye, but I was too enthralled to confess.
