Afterall, our lifetime is barely a blink on the large scale of time.
And precisely because of that we have to make the best of the time we are here. To me, that doesn't involve waiting the masses to wake up.

My prediction is that soon there will be a huge gap between people, maybe bigger than ever. Literally some people will have super-strenght, vision and hearing while others are just plain old humans. This gap will close at some point when technology matures but there will be this huge jump forward with small group of people quite soon. So let's just hope that we can handle that kind of change.

I agree with the "huge gap".
Basically we are entering another dark age. Where there will be people who know how to do things, and the rest of the unwashed masses.
Contrary popular belief in the historical dark ages, not all people where ignorant.
For example most people thought the world was flat. Enlightened people (the church had huge monestaries with vast libraries) knew the world was wrong, but it was convinient to allow the unwashed masses to thing it was flat. The crap the chris columbous thought he would fall off the edge of the earth was total rubbish.

Reason why the huge gap will exist is because few people like in the dark ages can control vast amounts of knowledge.

As for the unwashed masses, for the same reason social programs fail.
If you have 10 people, and 9 of them made $50K a year, and 1 made $60K.
The person who made $60K would rather he made $30K and the other 9 made $10K.
That way instead of only being 20% better then the other people he would be 300% better.
The way our animal brain thinks Smiley

Yeppers.
People take shit much too seriously.
I find people's behaviour very comical including my own Smiley. I could go on about my various neurosis.
I also find shit comical. Like a mathematical expert in probability who has a gambling addiction  ROFLMAO ROFLMAO
He goes to casinos probably can tell u exactly how much he stands to lose yet he is addicted Smiley.

Nah, we are too screwed up.  Too many of us starve or die of disease.  All it would take is another huge volcano, meteor strike or a series of calamities to knock our numbers down to hunter gatherer communities.  What about nukes or emp strikes?  All over, our grandchildren might wind up living as nomads.  I really hope not, but nothing can be forecast with any certainty.  All you have to do is look at some ideas that people had in the past about how we would be living now.  Anyone old enough to remember how we were all supposed to be only working a few hours a week?  My adult children think a 50 hour work week is the norm. They often work 60 to 70 hours a week.

I enjoy visiting this forum for the banter.  I have to explain that I live in an over 55 community in BC (its quiet but the ladies keep inviting me to ladies meetings - I never go), but with normal people in Mexico.  Anyway most people I know are real tight asses including most of my family. I usually keep my somewhat twisted opinions to myself.

Here is my rant - Just got back from Canadian Thanksgiving where I had to be on my best behaviour with all the in and outlaws.  Some of them actually believe the earth was created just 8,000 years ago, that Harry Potter books and movies are an evil cult of some sort and UFO's are fallen angels.  To keep peace I say nothing and retreat to my bedroom, but it literally hurts.  I can really relate to a bit by comedian Lewis Black about doing a routine for DC officials where he was not allowed to say fuck and all he could think of was yelling it over and over..  I feel like yelling, "you are ignorant idiots", over and over at my family! And to top it off the family has a huge St. Bernard as an indoor house pet. That is like having a pony in the house that loves you and drools on you or tries to lick your face.  That's the end of my rant, I love them but I'm not rushing back.   Maggie

 ROFLMAO

It takes all types in this world.

Not everyone can be as smart and sensible as me.  Wink

Thanks for the rant, that was a good one.
