but they all suck. Too bad. I figured that by now there would be a roomba-like home rover that prowled around the house.

Closest thing was this, but it's a toy. Reviews are terrible

 Ditto

Yeah man. And make them look human. With a hardened titanium endoskeleton. Yeah, that's the ticket.

theres nothing to worry about.

we'll even make them run on biofuel, so they have a small carbon footprint.

give them a strict, literal moral code to follow to the letter, and everything should be dandy.

you know they can run on blood now right?

first rule of robotics should be: Do not encourage the robot to use humans as fuel...

>crowbar

My crowbar is a (922-compliant) Saiga .410 with a 10-round magazine.

>bot

Mostly, I was thinking that the bots would be developed enough by now to provide that in a convenient, ready-to-run package at a decent price point. Kind of like where the robotic lawn mowers are now. Seems I was wrong.

With an open floor plan, I have a perfect set-up for a simple cctv-to-email system.

i agree.
flying cars = PHAIL
robot to clean my house = PHAIL
robot baby sitter = PHAIL

though from what I understand, a cleaning bot that picks up clothes, vacuums, mops, does the dishes, and can open doors and such, is in testing. I can't find the link but it was pretty cool when I saw it about 6 months ago.

I was like, "$10,000??? SOLD!" The i would hack it to do my work for me and then go on vacation.

perhaps someday this will actually be more than just a dream - I've been following him for about a decade now:

the rub with flying cars is this:

do you want that idiot neighbor of yours landing/flying anywhere near your house or anyone you know?

Make that two decades perk.  We were talking about investing in it back at T.S. & D.  How time "flies"  Shocked

Get yourself a proper hand cannon.

My Glock double deuce can be chambered for 9mm (.40) or 10mm (.45) rounds, but it's just for practice.

If the robot uprising starts, the guns with real stopping power will come out. Can't do it with a gas-powered semi-auto unless we're talking Israeli (Desert Eagle).
