Anything that records phone conversations makes a little beep, so that's obvious but er...you can just grab whatever's coming out of your computer's DSP (think Skype)...store the stream then compress it to an MP3 later. Technically you're supposed to alert the other party that you're recording him, but you're not taking the guy to court (ideally anyway), just "reminding" him what he actually said.

how about a 'y' connector and a patch cable ... one to your headset and one to the 'line in' of a recording device then it wouldnt sound like speaker hahahaha... i think 'pamela' has recording capability to do the dsp thing your talking aobut but is only available as a skype plug in on windows i think... it even has stuff on there like

'crying baby' 'other ringing phones'  where you can play mp3s/wavs into the phone conversation...

for example... your wife calls, your about to pwn someone in cogs of war... shes blabbing and you
hit the 'baby crying ' button and it is this huge distracting waahhh waaahhhh waaaahhh and you
can say 'honey i gotta call you back i cant hear a thing your saying'

sounds pretty real on the other end!

hahahaahah pamela is a pretty neat little toy.
