Does anybody here do any hacking like RATs or other more stuff than what's discussed here? Of course I'm not looking for ready-made-list for police to grab but how many can confess that they are into that kind of stuff too. I must raise my hand \o

Are you a script kiddie?
We are all hackers. By definition. Anyone here who is not a hacker in some way, shape, or form should not be posting here.

There are folks here of frightening capability. And I'm 100% certain that none of them will talk to you about that stuff here.

and if they did talk about it, the ban hammer would be dropped. (just to make that clear)
To echo v's sentiment. We are all hackers. Perk hacks midi equipment (i think) to do things they weren't intended to do. we all hack the software we build and buy, to make it do more than originally intended. Many of us hack the social sheep system which you may know as the flow of internet commerce and advertising. Some of us hack into those gray lines and right to the edge.
But as for RATs, zombies, trojans, viruses, worms, blah blah blah. None of that here. I am pretty sure that although many of us are old school hackers, pre-WWW, pre-browsers, we are now more aware of the laws, and with much more to lose for such indiscretions. That doesn't mean we don't have an interest in how they work of course, know they enemy.

Well said Nuts - I'm more of a Make 2.0 kind of hacker now. And just for the record: although I may have broken into all manner of places when I was young, it was never for malicious purpose, as I'm sure it was for you as well Nuts. It was a different goal, back in the day.

Exploration here. Make things do stuff I want them to do, not what their designers thought that I should want them to do.

so if i'm interested in malicious hacking i deserve ban? .. excellent logic My point wasn't to raise discussions how to spread RATs etc. but to just see if people here are actually interested those ways too. It's not illegal to be interested in reverse engineering, worms, trojans or rootkits for example. What you decide to do with that knowledge, it's up to you. But if you guys are so sensitive about this, let's not talk about this any further.

We all see a lot of script kiddies and boneheads man, it's not about you and it's not about techniques. I'd just really rather not attract that sort of folks to this board - if you scan over the threads, you'll notice we have a different sort of rhythm here. That's all. Thanks, I appreciate your understanding. You're still welcome here at the Cache

If I can venture to say, I think "Security" discussions would be allowed.
I guess its all in the delivery...
"I want to hack this" VS "I would like to protect against this, can they get past it"
maybe..
