I had a couple of the early roombas but gave them away due to the PITA of dumping tiny dustbins (and the fun wore off. and the house has central vac).  Also, the early versions weren't self-docking.  There's a new one coming out from a competitor with self-docking for $150 --eclean, or somesuch-- I might get it and just turn it loose in the house.  Maybe hack it to add a taser.
