Couldn't they associate your ip at thaT site with the ip that visited other sites
and have some big table with cross referenced tags .. ?
like your ip has visited stop smoking sites and foo and bar sites and mine had visited foo and bar
sites so they would suggest that i like stop smoking sites too...

There seems to be no way short of going way out of your way to be unnoticed... See above: the company doesn't provide a user-friendly way to manage LSO's, in fact it's incredible cumbersome.
And, most of all, never trust a vendor to (fully) nuke their own product.
