Searching The Cache

The single largest hiccup people have when searching the forum for something, is not knowing that a quick search (where you use the little "search" box on the left) is performed
within the scope of the board you're currently looking at
. That means that is you do a quick search for "AJAX" while you're currently in the "PERL" board, you'll only see posts that apply to that board.
This can be a positive feature - if you only WANT threads that talk about AJAX using PERL.
A better way to search the entire forum, however, is simply to click the Home tab, or click on CircuitHead at the top left which does the same thing. Now, when you search for something, by default you are looking through the entire forum, not just the current board.
Consider also using the Search tab at top, which offers a much more feature-rich search of the forum. You can be much more precise about what you are looking for and certainly get better results more quickly.
