I'm loading an image on a third party website:

That php script does some stuff and then header redirects to another page, owned by a different third party.

The third party is seeing the referrer as the page where the image was originally shown. I want it to be blank or something different...

I've tried putting a https in the middle, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

The Googles are failing me, telling me that it is not possible. Was wondering if one of you dudes knew a trick around this.

Proxy it?

I do it for amazon images all the time.

Request the image and stuff from the final company, as if you are the user that just requested it from you.
Then spit out the result from them. User will never see the end site in their http stream.
end site will never actually see your user.

only downside is that the end site will always see your 1 ip address, and not the user's actual ip. So not sure if thats an issue for tracking and such.

oh, and I didnt know you could redirect an image request.... interesting...

Good idea, but it's 100x more important that the final company see the diff ips than it is for them not to see the referrers.
