Saw this product this morning, the PlugBug, which is a pretty clever attachment for Apple product owners. It connects to the Mac Book Pro / Air power adapter just as the normal 110, 110 extension or international adapters do, but adds a 10W USB jack for powering a 'pad or 'phone as well. Very clever.

But the point of this post is the Twelve South checkout mechanism. It's very AJAX, used my previous information very well, the shipping choices were incredibly clean and well laid out ... in short, the whole mechanism was one of the best checkout layouts I've seen yet. And as a connoisseur of checkout mechanism (and the author of too many to count) that is saying something.

I'm not sure if it would have been quite as cool for a brand new customer (I was a returning one) but it's still very well done. Worth a few moments research if you're into such things.

Yep - it's only downside from my point of view is that its essentially offsite. Which is great from a PCI DSS compliance perspective, but not so good from a tracking point of view (although possible, just a pain).

They do a great job of masking the domain change from the customer tho.
