When PinkHat got breast cancer, we sold our businesses and moved our offices home. Over the course of 5 years through her recovery, one of my meditations was to redo my backyard - I wanted a tropical oasis feeling in the middle of the desert. Nothing you're seeing here existed when we purchased our home. It was a flat dirt backyard with no greenery.

We own some acreage in Meadview, Arizona - but have not built on it yet. Here is my father's home on the land right next to ours (ours is to the right, you can't see it here)

Your land has a great view. If only Iowa had more than cows, corn, and flat land...heh

@nop: Tis... wonderfully so. I love the beach (my mother & her husband live there) and surfed most of my first 30 years... but the dry air is so much more comfortable. Except June through September... uggh. @KK: Post pix of some corn fed dames for us bro! @arms: it is stunning, and having been a beach boy all my younger life, I would never have predicted that I'd love it so much. At Meadview it is absolutely silent and black at night. I can stare up at the stars for hours in awe and peace. I love it there. Where's your ranch cowboy?

Perk,
Amazing countryside my friend, I prefer the coast but I understand the pull of the desert. I lived in Alice Springs for a little while and you don't get much more desert/remote than that. The night skies are incredible.
Post some pics soon, td

Looks hot dry and dusty only joking - looks nice that hot tub in the back looks pretty cool, those swingers parties you have must go down really well with that in place now
