First, very cool shot. How do you enjoy your XTi.

Does the XTi give you a "calculated" shutter speed? Because your actual EXIF says 1/800 sec, f/5.6, iso 400.
Which doesnt quite seem right either for freezing a humming bird.
1/60,000 is not possible, thats why I wondered. Max on the XTi is 1/4000
and that 60k would be like the fooking hadron collider lol.

I love my xti, but need to pay better attention LOL. I thought I was at 1600 ISO and didn't realize I was shooting raw.

i used to shoot everything raw, but it got really annoying. then I shot, RAW/JPG, but found that 99.9999% of my photos don't justify raw. so now just jpg.

I like RAW for the exif data. Also, storage space is cheap. With how much Gimpshopping I do to my photos, it works out best.

I used to just shoot compressed jpgs so I could be lazy about changing out my CF cards, but at this point I'm into doing a photo dump at the end of the day and editing them all anyway.

jpg has all the exif as well, or at least i think it does? maybe its missing some things. meh whatever.

Yea, its not a storage issue for me. just purely a lazy issue. I used to shoot alot of stock photo stuff, but at the same time would also be shooting around the house. For the stock stuff i obviously needed raw, but the house stuff just made it a pain in the ass.

I think I might switch back to the RAW/JPG mode because I think i am going to try to get back into stock.

do you, or have you ever thought about shooting photos for stock? It's easy, and can make a hobby into some pocket cash. I do iStock.
