Well ... I've got it !

I've uninstalled version 6 (Felicia) of Linux Mint and reinstalled version 7 (Gloria) and everything seems to be working exactly as it should !

Nice.

Why did you wind up switching from Ubuntu to Mint? I'm still using Ubuntu 9.04 on my workstations and it's going quite well.

well ... I have another monitor attached to my notebook ... and with ubuntu i've tried one week to do a dual monitor thing just like I want ! Not worked !

And based on a suggestion from a member from syndk8 ... I've choosed mint which is based on ubuntu ... so I kind of the same thing !

After I've installed mint the dual monitor was detected instantly !

Yeah that is kind of a pain. I can easily get Ubuntu to recognize my monitors and do dual or triple monitor, but it won't save to my xorg.conf, so I have to set it up every time I reboot for some reason.

In Ubuntu, you can configure multiple monitors from the "Display" option under System->Preferences

Yes ! But I wanted the second monitor to be on the left ... and that was kind of pain !

Well ... until then ... back to work !
