Get the eyeballs first, then move them.
Mmm, good point.

Since this is Nokia, I wonder if they'll go with a premium price?
Not a lot of room to move in the 'book category ... "premium" would still probably be pretty low end I think.
Love how they draped themselves in a little bit o' Mac with the all aluminum case. It's good looking.

Pffft! They are obviously copying Panasonic Toughbooks. Who'd want to copy a Mac, hhh!

Specs are touting an HDMI out.  That's good.

>price

Some are thinking it'll be subsidized BUT bundled with a data plan contract.  Reasonable guess, I'd say.

Well wait now ... what's Nokia's macro plan? This confuses the issue:

Why tackle both platforms? Seems that sticking with one or the other would make more sense...

There was an article somewhere that said the W7 route was more one of expediency, that their linux stuff just wasn't ready for prime time as a netbook OS.  Seems reasonable, given that they're looking at ever-smaller netbooks infringing upon one end of their market and iphones crewing them a new asshole on the other end.

OK, here's Nokia's maemo-based smartphone.

"What it will come down to is the software, a place where Nokia has arguably lost its way of late."

I haven't been wowed just by the sight of a smart phone in a long time.  Man that looks nice!  I used to have the XV6700 and although it was a brick and a half, the slide-out qwerty keyboard was the best for typing by far.

Let's hope they can do this unit justice and get their software act together Undecided

I don't know why it took this long to notice, or maybe it wasn't in my beta version, but I just found a very nice feature.

Library folders. In previous windows you had My Photos for example. And of course if younwanted to keep everything organized "correctly" you put you photos there. Same with videos in My Videos. Until you ran out of drive space on C:... at which point you gave up and just started dumping shit on D.

Now the library folders are virtual folders. You can add mutiple source folders into a library folder. So some on d some on c, or work photos and personal photos seperated on disk but consolidated in the library.
