You are talking about the ad, so it is working Smiley
Indeed Smiley

Seriously M$ is probably going to go the way of IBM, but they are still in denial.
...
MS mobile will cost $15 a copy, this will increase end price of product by $20.
It can not do anything that android does not do, why shell out $15.
If MS gives away for free, no revenue model.
Agree.

Also can share info, unlike iphone.
This one was curious to me ... what do you mean? Pictures? Music? "data" as in, files? I don't understand you here.
That said, I think (THINK) that Apple's model is to endeavor to leverage the cloud for all data movement, rather than making things local peer to peer. Noting how they are pursuing the Apple TV zero storage model, I think they are becoming less enamored with local files and local comms.

The biggie for the asian market, out of the box you can install chinese, thai, tamil keyboards etc. (or some wacked out input method, I know with tamil they have like 300 phonetic letters, so that is why indian names are 150 letters long in latin letters Smiley).
It thought that iPhone could have all those keyboards & letters, which is how the iEmoji app brought about all the cool emoticons as a keyboard. So you cannot have alternate keyboards? That sounds incorrect to me...

Also HTC desire requires user's to make intelligent decisions. When u DL app from "Market" it will inform you what abilities this app requires. example : net access, ability to send SMS, ability to modify data. Apps can be a lot more powerful, a rogue app could hurt user badly Smiley
This is, of course, the essence of the debate between ITTO and me ... which is the right model? My assertion here will be that the rightest model is that both exist  ROFLMAO

So far from initial observations, both iphone and desire are excellent phones.
To some degree they cater to different markets.
HTC Desire is much more complex, but it comes with a price. Lack of user safety.
I really look forward to a full review. I wonder if the User Safety bit is really as bad as it sounds...? I mean, if a rogue app can jailbreak an iPhone then is it any more safe, really? (of course that has been patched that hole, but the point remains)

Spoon boy: Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth.
Neo: What truth?  Tongue
Spoon boy: There is no spoon.
Neo: There is no spoon?      Huh?   Need Help
Spoon boy: Then you'll see, that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.
Neo:  Embarrassed  D'oh!... wait,  Huh? Need Help

Crap, I thought this thread was about spoons!  Now then, what is a "spoon boy" really?  These are tough times indeed Wink

I am not an expert on this. I am in process of installing android sdk.
In the simplest level, files.
So camera takes pictures, then another app can modify those pictures.
For iphone you can install a PDF viewer. So I installed 3 different ones. But each one is "sandboxed" it has its own file storage.
So the first one can access the PDF put into each other ones file storage.
On a higher level, it appears that there is some sort of COM or OLE, what M$ uses so windoze apps can talk to each other.
So you can link your phone contacts, to a profile on flickr, to a gmail account, to face book etc. I have to study API, but there are like 5-6 apps that come installed that do this.
On HTC apps can put stuff on the main screen etc.
The sandbox model of iphone makes apps a lot safer, but they are "limited".

My bitch with apple, is that they are doing "false advertising". IPhone is like singapore, Android is like Philippines. Singapore has very strict rules, you deal drugs you are hanged, you vandalize, spit on the street, flogging. Very strict rules with cars etc. Philippines you can do what ever you want. But when something bad happens to you, don't go crying to the gov't.

Singapore is not a dictatorship in my opinion, because any person there is free to come and go. Other people are free to go there, providing you are self sustaining, and are not a burden on the country. Philippines not an issue with being a burden on the country, because if you can not feed yourself, you die, pretty simple.

But don't go telling people Singapore is like Philippines or vice versa Smiley. Well maybe weather wise they are, and the people in both places are asian but .... Smiley

IMHO apple is doing old fashioned advertising. One model fits all. I think that the modern way of sales is products will be tailored to individuals/groups.
