Damn Zune's got as many wrappers around layers around sham beginnings as Windows Millennium Edition. But nobody's better than Microsoft at that game.
yikes. I'd be interested to hear someone say they love the thing and why.
I can't speak to that since I don't own one and only know what I've read about it. But when I first learned that NVIDIA "built it" I was totally excited to see the final product. Big letdown to see this since I absolutely love their graphics cards. My PCs have at least 512s and produce the most amazing gaming experience.
All this aside, how in the hell can you read that stuff perk? It's like the Star magazine of IT. Can't stomach Micronazi rags either.
But wow:
"
If PortalPlayer sounds familiar, it's because Apple formerly used its system-on-a-chip parts to build MP3 players up through the 5G iPod and the original iPod nano. Apple accounted for 90% of PortalPlayer's business when it dumped the company in 2006, reportedly because the company was arrogantly jerking Apple around.
PortalPlayer was devastated and never recovered."
Apple got "jerked around" by something it owned 90% of yet AT&T gets a reach-around?

"Reportedly because," "people are saying," "experts conclude"

"
Tegra is also being hyped as providing "8 processing cores," but this is nonsense as it simply counts logical blocks common to all embedded SoC parts as "cores." The CPU in the Tegra is a single ARM11 core. Even if the Tegra did supply multiple CPU cores, the Windows CE kernel used by the Zune HD doesn't support multi-core SMP so it couldn't make any use of them."
HyperThread marketing speak. When "Pentium HT/-D" became truly dual core Intel raved about it. I thought it created distrust about their chips in general since Pentium-D became more obviously misleading

Anyone with success in the gaming market seems to ruffle the Apple feathers pretty hard. PC games - Apple's unsung nemesis
