They're appealing this to the Supreme Court  Shocked

Well at least this is a rare case where a smaller guy gets a shot at the larger one.  Of course the small guy has to continue to have deep enough pockets to challenge Microsoft time and again before having a shot at stealing money from them.  Microsoft still will have profited more from their gross abuse of other companies using our corrupt patent system as their weapon.  Now may they die by the sword or admit the truth of the shell game of patents.

It's gonna take Microsoft, Apple, Google and IBM getting seriously burned before we'll even consider rethinking this horrible system that benefits absolutely no one.  At one point Microsoft literally patented the ability to appreciate music, or rather, to "classify fundamental properties of media entities."   Roll Eyes

The least we can do is openly admit how horrible it is and resist the temptation to find some middle-of-the-road logic that justifies an acceptable percentage of purpose behind them.  Boo to the mainstream!  Down with spineless conformity!  Down with.... another beer Smiley

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.
