What's wild to me is the high end talk about "thousands of cores" ... on a DIE. Cripes - gonna make that look like a chunka scrap in no time I'll betcha.
I was imagining the other night: what will it be like when I can have zillions of cores in an iSmartPhoneNetThing, all my data stored in holographic memory in an old fashioned 7Billion TB sugar-cube-sized storage block ...
Let me reprise a quote (by me) about 35 years ago-ish while playing with a terminal connected to an IBM System 370: "a five MEGABYTE hard drive? What in the WORLD would you ever need that much storage for?"
