I'm not holding my breath for an 8-bit computer to "save the world." But at $20 (US), to hold roughly the entire wikipedia or about 5,000 full length books, this little open project could definitely help educate in areas where cost has previously prohibited entry to educational resources

Power is the problem really. But yea, old tech shoiuld not go away when it becomes basically free to make. 8 bit is good enough for an ebook reader.

So basically now we are at a point where an 8 bit computer is like a throwaway digital
watch you can get for a buck..... Soon a quad core and display will be embedded in
a single page of a magazine advertisement that plays a video once or twice.. lol
