Not currently realistic AFAIC, too hard to train, the good stuff (Dragon?) is proprietary.

If you wish to commit start with Microsoft's SpeechLib::SpInprocRecognizer and work out from there. i struck a dead end on this, I wish you better luck.

Cheers,

This is as far as i got as well, but most IVRs seem to be able to recognize voice.  As well as the microsoft sync feature available in new cars.  I had hoped to be abel to use my computer in so many other ways by now than just the Mouse and keyboard. imo WE SHOULD BE A LOT FARTHER A LONG by now.

Ya.  And, we should be peacefully coexisting on our wonderful planet too.

When the money starts showing up, the 'farther along' stuff is sure to follow.

BYW welcome hondaman.  Two wheeler?  Four wheeler?  Or, country of
origin?

Yeah, welcome hondaman, my theory is that once enough of the proprietary stuff leaks out into the open source community it will become available to the man in the street, then she'll fly.

dink and darness i agree,  yahoos money went into vlingo.com i think.

sounds interesting...

hey, thanks for the welcome ive been following along for a little while and thought id jump in... i remember i had a covox voice master with something similar to an api for my apple//c and i made a blackjack game that understood after about 20 minutes of training 'hit' 'stand' , etc and that was in the eighties.

thought id jump in the mix, i dont have much knowledge to share unless its about vtech honda civics, ham radios or Apple //c basic, but I enjoy technology and discussion

and i like to talk some smack every now and then.

If you're looking to perhaps break a voice captcha: given a standard waveform (e.g. all encoded the same), you can interpret it algorithmically and parse it that way. There are some good projects that have dealt with it, if I could be arsed to find them.
