That's both quite interesting and binds pretty well with Google's unsaid, but clear desire to know everything about all things instantly.
The last few moments of that video sort of make it clear when they say, "Don't just think feeds, but the whole web ... think all web pages ... " This could do a tremendous amount to reduce the busy wait / scan/scrape methodology that Google has had to employ. Obviously there's quite a lot of effort involved in getting a critical mass to be involved in that system, but virtually every site that did would be a minuscule reduction in the total processing power they'd need to scrape the entire web.
I'm actually kind of intrigued and am going to look deeper at that.
Cheers ITTO

Cool perks. Another interesting development I stumbled upon is something called OpenShift from Red Hat. It's forthcoming but sounds promising. It's basically an open PaaS framework that cloud providers can get certified to host. You can then choose your cloud provider and avoid the lock-in scenario. Roth said Red Hat OpenShift delivers greater flexibility than other PAAS offerings by supporting more development frameworks for Java, Python, PHP and Ruby, including Spring, Seam, Weld, CDI, Rails, Rack, Symfony, Zend Framework, Twisted, Django and Java EE. It also includes both SQL and NoSQL data stores and a distributed file system, he said. By building on the Deltacloud cloud interoperability standard, OpenShift is designed to allow developers to run their applications on any supported Red Hat Certified Public Cloud Provider, he added. "Someday most all software will be written in the cloud" - unknown

Perks is using a reference to Die Hard, but perhaps he may want to buy a beach someday anyway He should get me to broker the beach for him I have listed 2 x 5000 sq meter beachfront which is approx 1.2 acre. 3K peso per sq meter so like 15M at 42 peso per $1 approx $350K Good road access, close to good hospital, close to an airport etc. You can get much cheaper beach front at other places, but it will be literally in the middle of no where.
