If Google came and offered you a bag full of millions you'd take it in a skinny minute. Prolly not even ask what they intend to do with it.

Kurdt, I understand your philosophical love of the ancient (and inaccurate) pseudo-purity of the internet. But it's a place to make money now. That company did not make their shit so that could live in honorable poverty. They probably had "Get purchased by Google" written into their business plan before they even started.
I think you need to address the possibility that people LIKE being rich, and Google/MacroShaft/Apple etc can provide that. Companies are not unwillingly sucked up by Google. They sign on the dotted line then go play golf for the rest of their lives. It's the American dream man.
Yeah, that's why I said that I understand why they sold out. I have no problem with people selling their creations to other companies. It's not really my business. But I don't like the behavior model where corporations buy their competition because that's bad for the consumer. Microsoft is especially skillful at this.
