This is an interesting concept when you contemplate the converse: what are the problems that closed source software attempts to solve?  Just one - profit for the corporation that owns it   Idea...

If you truly wanted to help solve problems for people, the concept of closing down your source is ridiculous since it just makes your job that much harder.  But if all you care about is cash then you probably think closed source is a good thing
