Meanwhile, Congress is trying to figure out how to bring it back so they can tax it.

dumbest move they ever made.

I wonder if we would be in this big of a hole if it was legal?
Tax it to hell, and it still will be profitable.

Yup, during the appeal the Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming Association pointed out that some form of non-virtual gambling — such as lotteries, casinos, horse and dog racing — is allowed in all states but Hawaii and Utah. We have boatloads of sin taxes that offer precedent.

Personally, I think the easy access to porn on the internet spooked the legislators.  Having somehow failed to plug the porn dam they jumped on gambling.

As stated that the bill we now have is nearly identical to the bill Jack Abramoff would have wanted. The bill bans online poker, sports wagering and casino games, but doesn't touch state lotteries or horse racing (which, by the way, has in the past made some meaty contributions to Rep. Goodlatte's campaign chest).

What a suck...they're banning entertainment sites such as casino and very fine on porn sites.
